PM Modi Speaks With Mauritius PM Ramgoolam On Bilateral Cooperation

Ramgoolam, son of the nation’s first Prime Minister, has been in office since 2024.

The call reviewed bilateral developments following their September 2025 meeting in Varanasi during Ramgoolam’s state visit to India.

Prime Minister Modi formally invited Ramgoolam to participate in the upcoming AI Impact Summit scheduled for February 2026.

The summit, a flagship initiative under India’s AI Mission, focuses on ‘welfare for all’ and aims to foster innovation, research, and technology adoption across sectors.

The invitation signals India’s intent to deepen collaboration in artificial intelligence, digital governance, and emerging technologies with Mauritius.

The leaders agreed to enhance exchanges in education, skill development, and scientific research. They also explored avenues for joint ventures in renewable energy, fintech, and smart infrastructure.

Both sides emphasised the importance of technology-driven solutions to address societal challenges and bolster economic resilience.
