PM Modi Speaks To Qatar Amir, Condemns Attacks; Reaches Out To Eight Gulf Leaders In 48 Hours

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, amid heightened tensions in the region.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent attacks on Qatar and conveyed India’s concern over the evolving security situation. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to peace, stability and dialogue in West Asia.

The Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation for the leadership shown by Qatar in safeguarding the Indian community residing in the country.

PM Modi thanked the Amir for ensuring the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in Qatar. He acknowledged the continued support and care extended to the Indian diaspora, which plays an important role in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

The conversation underscored the close and friendly relations shared by India and Qatar. Both leaders discussed the importance of maintaining regional stability and protecting civilian lives.

In the past 48 hours, PM Modi has spoken with several leaders across West Asia as part of India’s proactive diplomatic engagement. His outreach has included conversations with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.

These discussions reflect India’s active diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation during a period of uncertainty in the region.

India has consistently emphasised the need for restraint and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The Prime Minister’s recent engagements highlight New Delhi’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens abroad while contributing constructively to regional stability.

The ongoing consultations demonstrate India’s strong partnerships in the Gulf and its balanced approach to diplomacy in West Asia.
