On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on two significant journeys, symbolizing India’s prowess in defence and its commitment to preserving its rich heritage.
Prime Minister Modi witnessed the Bharat Shakti exercise at the Pokhran firing range in Rajasthan, a demonstration of India’s indigenous defense capabilities across the Tri-Services. Emphasizing the need for self-reliance, he highlighted the remarkable growth in defense production, which has doubled over the past decade, surpassing ₹1 lakh crore. PM Modi credited the youth and the emergence of over 150 defense startups for this achievement, with the armed forces committing orders worth ₹1,800 crore to support them. He stressed that a self-reliant defense sector instills confidence in the armed forces, and Pokhran stands as a testament to India’s self-reliance, power, and pride.
In a separate engagement, Prime Minister Modi visited the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, inaugurating the Kochrab Ashram and launching the Master Plan of Gandhi Ashram Memorial. Paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision, he unveiled a ₹1,200 crore redevelopment project, a dream he had harbored since his tenure as Gujarat’s chief minister. Modi underscored the importance of conserving heritage and highlighted the government’s commitment to restoring Sabarmati Ashram’s glory. He reiterated Gandhi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, citing initiatives like promoting natural farming and popularizing Khadi as embodiments of Gandhi’s ideals.
Modi’s visits to Pokhran and Sabarmati symbolize India’s commitment to both strength and heritage. From showcasing defense prowess to honoring Gandhi’s legacy, the Prime Minister’s actions embody the spirit of a resurgent India, striving for self-reliance and global leadership while staying rooted in its rich cultural heritage.
Hailing PM’s constant efforts to make India Atmanirbhar Priti Gandhi posted on her social media account X (Formerly Twitter). In her post, she said, “PM @narendramodi today highlighted India’s twin messages of peace and power — through his avatar as a Shantidoot during his visit to Sabarmati Ashram in the morning and thereafter his transformation as a Shaktidoot in Pokhran!”
