PM Modi Says Ayodhya Exemplifies Ideals That Shape Character And Nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday described Ayodhya as a sacred city where values become lived practice and where the journey towards righteousness truly begins. Addressing devotees at the Ram Temple, he said Ayodhya continues to illuminate how individuals evolve through collective strength.

PM Modi noted that Lord Ram embarked on his life’s journey from Ayodhya as a prince and returned as Maryada Purushottam, the epitome of virtue.

He credited this transformation to the wisdom and guidance of Maharishi Vashistha, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Agastya, as well as the compassion and support of figures such as Goddess Ahalya, Nishadraj Guha and Mata Shabari.

He said these influences symbolised the role of society in shaping character, a principle he believes remains vital for India’s progress.

Collective Strength Central to National Growth

The Prime Minister emphasised that building a Viksit Bharat required collective endeavour across all sections of society. He said the Ram Temple premises were emerging as a centre that inspires shared capability and national unity.

PM Modi said the government has placed women, Dalits, backward and extremely backward classes, tribal communities, farmers, labourers and young people at the forefront of development initiatives over the past eleven years. He reiterated that India must achieve the vision of a fully developed nation by 2047, the centenary of independence. He said this goal can be realised only through combined commitment.

PM Modi also highlighted the newly built Sapt Mandir within the temple complex. He described it as a tribute to India’s diverse spiritual and cultural traditions. He said the Shabari Temple represented the devotion and customs of tribal communities, while the Nishadraj Temple symbolised deep friendship.

The temples dedicated to Maharishi Vashistha, Maharishi Vishwamitra and Maharishi Agastya, he added, reflected the profound impact of their teachings.

PM Modi urged all visitors to Ayodhya to include the Sapt Mandir in their pilgrimage. He emphasised that the site strengthened values of duty, companionship and social harmony alongside religious faith.

The Prime Minister concluded that Ayodhya’s message roots itself in moral strength and collective responsibility. He said this message should guide the nation as it works towards long-term development and unity.
