PM Modi Replies To Vote Of Thanks On President’s Address: Key Notes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President’s address on Thursday. The PM launched a scathing attack on Congress as he tore into opposition in Rajya Sabah.

From ‘license Raj’, ‘Congress’ ignorance of Ambedkar’, ‘Hindu rate of progress’, and ‘INC’s alleged focus on belittling others’ to achievements of the NDA government, PM Modi spoke on several subjects. Here are the highlights,

Advise To Congress

In a pointed message to the Congress party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday advised them to focus on building their strength rather than attempting to weaken others.

“Bina maange advise de raha hoon, Congress apni lakeer badi karne ki soche naa ke dusro ki lakeer choti karne ki. Agar aisa karenge toh shayad janata aapko bhi mauka degi 10 metre chalke yaha aane ka,” PM Modi said in Rajya Sabha.

Expectation Of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ From Congress

“As far as congress is concerned… from them to expect ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ [development of all] is a big mistake… it is beyond their thoughts and it is not going to suit their roadmap also… because it is a huge party and has been dedicated to a dynasty so sabka sath sabka vikas is not possible to them…,” PM Modi added

PM slams Congress over BR Ambedkar

PM Modi, in his Rajya Sabha address, accused the Congress of mistreating BR Ambedkar, saying that the party’s dislike for the social reformer is ‘backed by documents’.

‘License Raj’ In Congress’ Era

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took credit for ending the Congress-era license permit raj. Modi recalled the restrictive license raj under previous governments, where even basic commodities like cement, sugar, and computers required permits. He said, “Today’s youth should understand how their parents suffered under Congress’ license raj.”

Hindu Rate Of Growth

Addressing the MPs in the Upper House, PM Modi slammed the Congress and remarked: “This weak growth rate, this failure, led to the term ‘Hindu rate of growth’ being coined in the world. It was an insult to an entire society, a reflection of the failure of those in power. Due to the economic mismanagement and wrong policies of the ‘Shahi Parivar’, the entire society was blamed and defamed worldwide.”
