PM Modi Praises Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; Extends Birthday Wishes For His Tourism & Cultural Initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the social media platform ‘X’ on Friday to wish Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, praising his initiatives to position India as a tourism hub while promoting Indian culture.

PM Modi prayed for Shekhawat’s long and healthy life, acknowledging his dedication to the nation’s cultural and tourism sectors.

Leaders Join in Birthday Greetings

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded Shekhawat’s relentless contributions to enriching India’s tourism and cultural heritage, wishing him continued success and good health.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh echoed similar sentiments, commending Shekhawat for his unwavering efforts in public service.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt wishes, praying for Shekhawat’s good health, long life, and success in national service and social upliftment.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also conveyed birthday greetings, highlighting Shekhawat’s dedication to public welfare.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised Shekhawat for advancing India’s cultural heritage and tourism sector, noting his guidance in further enriching traditions and tourism initiatives in Delhi.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai joined in sending warm wishes, appreciating his work in tourism and cultural promotion.

Recognition of Political Journey and Public Service

A prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shekhawat has held key positions, including Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Minister of Jal Shakti.

His contributions to water conservation and farmers’ welfare have been instrumental in addressing Rajasthan’s water challenges.

Shekhawat’s political career began in 1992 as President of the Student Union at JNVU University, later becoming National General Secretary of the BJP Kisan Morcha.

In 2014, voters elected him to the 16th Lok Sabha from Jodhpur with a commanding margin of 4,10,051 votes, demonstrating strong public support.

Shekhawat has spearheaded initiatives that strengthen India’s tourism sector and showcase its rich cultural heritage globally.

Leaders across party lines recognised his dedication, emphasising his role in creating opportunities for local communities and promoting India’s traditions, arts, and heritage.

The birthday greetings underscore the recognition of Shekhawat’s ongoing contributions to the nation’s tourism and cultural sectors.
