PM Modi, PM Sanchez To Unveil Tata-Airbus Aircraft Plant In Vadodara

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely inaugurate the final assembly line of Tata Advanced Systems’ new aircraft manufacturing facility in Vadodara on 28 October, alongside Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

This state-of-the-art plant marks a significant collaboration between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Airbus Defence and Space, aimed at bolstering India’s defense manufacturing capabilities.

The facility is likely to manufacture the first ‘Made in India’ C-295 medium-lift tactical transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Under the agreement, Tata Advanced Systems has designated as the Indian Production Agency (IPA) by Airbus DS, with plans to produce 40 fly-away C-295 aircraft at the plant.

Additionally, Tata will provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support for 56 aircraft that the IAF will procure, with the first delivery expected by 2026.

Itinerary For PM Modi & PM Sanchez’s Visit To Vadodara

Prime Minister Sanchez is likely to arrive in Vadodara the night before the inauguration. The leaders plan to jointly launch the facility and engage with notable industrialists in the region.

Although discussions about a potential roadshow featuring both leaders are ongoing, final confirmation remains pending due to security considerations.

Following the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi and PM Sanchez will engage in bilateral talks and enjoy lunch at the historic Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara.

Later, PM Modi will travel to Amreli district to address a public rally, inaugurate the ‘Amrit Sarovar’ in Dudhala village – the hometown of prominent industrialist Savji Dholakia – and lay the groundwork for several developmental projects.

PM Modi’s visit to Gujarat will conclude with his return to Delhi in the evening.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah is also set to visit the state on 22 October.

In related news, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the state government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by its citizens during a recent inauguration of development projects worth Rs 640 crore in Viramgam.

CM Patel emphasized that various significant initiatives are in the pipeline to enhance the green energy sector, all under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
