PM Modi Pays Tribute To Ram Vilas Paswan On His Death Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on his death anniversary, remembering his lifelong commitment to public welfare and efforts to connect deprived sections of society with development.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “A humble tribute to former Union Minister Shri Ram Vilas Paswan Ji on his death anniversary. His entire life was dedicated to public welfare. He made tireless efforts to connect the deprived sections of society with the mainstream of development. His contributions to the country will always be remembered.”

Paswan emerged as a prominent Dalit leader in Indian politics and founded the Lok Janshakti Party. He played an influential role in national affairs for several decades and served in multiple Union governments during his political career.

Ram Vilas Paswan’s public life was closely associated with social justice and the welfare of disadvantaged communities. He further worked to strengthen their participation in the development process and representation in public life.

Paswan died in 2020. Since then, political leaders and organisations have continued to remember his contribution to public service and social empowerment.

PM Modi’s tribute highlighted Paswan’s enduring legacy in Indian politics. It also recalled his efforts to ensure that deprived sections remained part of the country’s development journey.

Ram Vilas Paswan’s political career, however, continues to be associated with issues of social justice and inclusive development. It is also associated with the representation of marginalised communities.
