PM Modi Meets Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides At Hyderabad House

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides held bilateral talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Friday, focusing on strengthening cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including trade, investment, defence, technology and innovation.

The discussions reflected the growing strategic partnership between India and Cyprus and are expected to further deepen collaboration in areas such as education, mobility, artificial intelligence, FinTech, research, culture and security.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including cooperation in multilateral forums and India-European Union relations.

Before the official talks, PM Modi and President Christodoulides greeted each other warmly and shared a light moment by taking a selfie together.

Earlier in the day, the visiting Cyprus President paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met President Christodoulides and appreciated his commitment towards enhancing India-Cyprus ties.

Following the meeting, Jaishankar stated that he looked forward to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between India and the European Union through continued engagement.

President Nikos Christodoulides arrived in New Delhi after completing the Mumbai leg of his visit to India. Union Minister Ajay Tamta welcomed him with a ceremonial reception and Guard of Honour.

The MEA said the visit strengthens India-Cyprus strategic and economic ties.

Before arriving in Delhi, President Christodoulides visited the NSE in Mumbai to discuss investment and economic cooperation opportunities.
