Parliament Live Updates: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ignored the opposition’s demand for an investigation into charges of financial malfeasance against Adani Group brought by American short-seller Hindenburg Research.
PM Modi replies to Motion of Thanks in Rajya Sabha amid sloganeering from Opposition MPs on Thursday in the ongoing Budget Session of the Parliament. The debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s Address in Rajya Sabha ended on Wednesday. The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Wednesday evening for a lack of quorum.
Earlier on Tuesday, Parliament witnessed a heated discussion on the President’s speech after three days of stalemate over the Hindenburg-Adani row. PM took veiled digs at Rahul Gandhi who had made a sharp attack on the government over the Adani issue in his speech during the debate on Tuesday. Addressed that some discussions made on Tuesday were lauded by their ecosystem.
The Congress on Wednesday also strongly criticized the expunging of certain remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that “democracy was cremated” in Lok Sabha.
