PM Modi, Leaders Wish Happiness And Prosperity To Citizens On Bhai Dooj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed his best wishes to citizens on the occasion of Bhai Dooj, expressing hopes for happiness, prosperity, and good fortune for everyone.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Heartfelt wishes to all of you on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. May this festival, symbolising the mutual love and trust between brother and sister, bring happiness, prosperity, and good fortune into everyone’s life. May the bond of this relationship gain renewed strength—that is my wish.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings on Bhai Dooj, wishing that the festival of love between brothers and sisters brings happiness, harmony, and prosperity to all.

In a post on X, BJP President JP Nadda extended heartfelt wishes on Bhai Dooj, calling it a festival that symbolises the unbreakable bond between siblings and strengthens Sanatan traditions.

He further added that the occasion reflects selfless devotion and prayed that it brings happiness, prosperity, and affection to everyone’s lives.

Celebrated with warmth and joy across India, Bhai Dooj, also known by regional names such as Bhaiya Dooj, Bhai Tika, and Bhau Beej, honours the affectionate bond between brothers and sisters.

Observed on the second lunar day of Shukla Paksha in Kartika, the eighth month of the Vikram Samvat and Shalivahana Shaka calendars, Bhai Dooj coincides with the Diwali and Tihar celebrations in many regions.

According to Hindu tradition, the festival commemorates the occasion when Goddess Yamuna invited her brother Yamaraj for a meal at her home.

Since then, the day has symbolised the sacred bond between siblings and the triumph of love and goodwill over suffering.
