PM Modi, Leaders Pay Tribute To Ahilyabai Holkar On Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar on her birth anniversary and praised her lasting contributions to public welfare, cultural preservation and nation-building. He further said her dedication to society and her commitment to good governance continue to inspire generations across the country.

In a post on X, PM Modi offered his respects to Ahilyabai Holkar and described her as a symbol of intelligence, compassion and public service. He said the nation remembers her with great respect and honour for her unwavering efforts to improve the lives of her people.

The Prime Minister highlighted Ahilyabai Holkar’s role in strengthening India’s cultural heritage. He further praised Ahilyabai Holkar for restoring temples and pilgrimage sites and strengthening India’s cultural heritage.

PM Modi described her life as a model of patriotism, courage and good governance, highlighting her focus on public welfare and justice.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to the revered queen, praising her visionary and people-centric leadership.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also remembered her as a skilled administrator and champion of justice.

Born in 1725 in present-day Maharashtra, Ahilyabai Holkar ruled the Maratha Malwa kingdom and earned recognition for her reforms, philanthropy and restoration of temples and public infrastructure.

Nearly three centuries after her birth, Ahilyabai Holkar’s legacy continues to inspire Indians through her values of service, leadership, justice and dedication to the nation.
