PM Modi Launches Developmental Projects Worth Over Rs 19,100 crore, Kicks Off Election Campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 19,100 crore in Bulandshahr, Western Uttar Pradesh, kicking off the campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. This event took place just three days after the grand ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony at the new Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Addressing the public in Bulandshahr, PM Modi responded to news reports speculating about him sounding the poll bugle for the upcoming elections. He asserted, “Modi sounds the bugle of development. Modi doesn’t need to sound the poll bugle; the public does this for Modi.”

Taking a swipe at opposition parties, he criticized their ‘false promises’ of ‘Gareebi Hatao’ (eradicate poverty) and remarked, “After independence, for a long time, people raised slogans of Garibi Hatao, and some kept lying in the name of social justice. But the poor witnessed only a few getting rich, benefiting their politics. The situation is changing, and Modi is serving you with honesty.”

Before arriving in Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi also addressed first-time voters on National Voters’ Day through video conferencing. He emphasized that when he meets world leaders, he represents the 140 crore Indians, and the Indian passport is now a source of pride globally.

PM Modi highlighted India’s progress, shifting the focus from corruption to credibility and from scams to success stories. He stated, “Earlier, India was on the list of fragile five economies, but today, Bharat is the fifth-largest economy globally.” He further stated that in the coming years, India will become one of the top three economies.

Expressing his vision for the future, PM Modi asserted, “Now it is time to give newer heights to ‘Rashtra Pratishtha’ (national prestige). Our aim is to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047.”

Discussing the government’s initiatives, PM Modi mentioned the development of four Integrated Industrial Townships in the country, with one inaugurated in Greater Noida. He emphasized the welfare of farmers as a top priority and highlighted the government’s efforts to provide a security cover to every farmer’s family.

PM Modi cited achievements over the past decade, including lifting 25 crore people out of poverty, the construction of pucca houses, toilets in villages, and the availability of tap water in rural homes. He underscored the significant benefits received by farmers and agricultural laborers, including pension facilities and assistance through the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in times of crop failure, amounting to more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
