PM Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 22 development projects worth ₹5,736 crore in Bihar, marking a significant push for infrastructure and welfare initiatives in the state.
PM Modi reached Jasoli in Bihar’s Siwan district via Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Locals gave him a rousing welcome, lining the streets and chanting slogans like ‘Modi Zindabad’ and ‘Welcome Modi Ji’.
He conducted a roadshow in an open jeep, waving and smiling at enthusiastic crowds who captured the moment on their mobile phones.
During the public rally at Jasoli, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced multiple high-value projects under the Central Government’s development agenda.
These include two new train services and upgrades to sanitation, infrastructure, and the energy sector.
“The Central Government has done a lot of work for Bihar. The projects inaugurated today will give a big boost to the state’s development,” CM Nitish Kumar stated.
The Chief Minister praised PM Modi’s leadership, highlighting improved safety, women’s empowerment, and the Centre’s historic move to conduct a caste-based census.
“Earlier, people couldn’t step out in the evening. Today, Bihar is progressing. We’ve worked hard for women’s upliftment and implemented reservation policies,” he added.
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, several Union Ministers, and BJP Bihar President Dilip Jaiswal joined PM Modi on stage.
Jaiswal welcomed the Prime Minister with flowers and a shawl, saying, “The moment I was waiting for has arrived.”
This marks PM Modi’s fifth visit to Bihar in 2025, underscoring the state’s critical role in the NDA’s electoral strategy ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The government’s focus on back-to-back development announcements aims to counter opposition criticism over governance and law and order.
