Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India’s position as an ideal testing lab for solutions with global applications during his virtual address at the G20 Digital Economy Working Group Ministers Meet.
He highlighted that solutions proven successful in India can be seamlessly adapted worldwide.
In his address, Modi underscored India’s unparalleled diversity in language, religion, and cultural practices. From ancient traditions to cutting-edge technology, India accommodates a wide spectrum.
“A solution that succeeds in India can be easily applied anywhere in the world,” Modi affirmed.
Modi extended an invitation to the world, offering to share India’s valuable experience. He introduced the India Stacks, a global public digital goods depository designed to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all.
Modi urged participants to collaboratively draft a roadmap for cross-country comparison of digital skills. Additionally, he advocated the establishment of a virtual center of excellence dedicated to digital skilling.
Addressing the global reach of digital economy challenges, Modi cautioned against security threats. He urged consensus on the “G20 High Level principles for a secure, trusted, and resilient digital economy.”
Modi further recognized the G20’s unique potential to establish an inclusive, prosperous, and secure global digital future.
He emphasized integrating financial inclusion and productivity through Digital Public Infrastructure.
He then went on to outline the transformative impact of India’s digital initiatives. The convergence of Jan Dhan accounts, Aadhaar, and mobile phones revolutionized financial transactions, fostering financial inclusion.
Modi unveiled “Bhashini,” an AI-powered language translation platform.
“We are building ‘Bhashini’, an AI powered language translation platform. It will support digital inclusion in all the diverse languages of India,” the Prime Minister said.
