PM Modi Hails Surat’s Contribution To Aatmanirbhar Bharat Vision

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the people of Surat for their dedication to strengthening the nation and promoting self-reliance.

Sharing his thoughts on the social media platform, the Prime Minister reflected on his visit to the city and praised its collective commitment towards national development.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “It was wonderful being among the people of Surat yesterday. From this vibrant city, we collectively reiterated our commitment to making India strong and self-reliant.”

The Prime Minister also posted a video from the visit, which captured enthusiastic crowds greeting him with chants of ‘Modi, Modi’.

In the video message, PM Modi described, “I believe that Surat is not only a city but also a spirit. Our resolution is to make ‘Viksit Surat’ as well as ‘Viksit Bharat’.”

The Prime Minister underlined the growing importance of energy independence, particularly during a period of global uncertainty. He stated that India continues to advance despite criticism from those who doubt the country’s self-reliance mission.

“In this country, there are some pessimistic people who mock the Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign. India is far from negativity. This country is a land full of hope. The people of India are full of dreams and determination. When the people of the country are determined, all dreams and goals can be achieved. That is the strength of this nation,” he added.

During his visit on Friday, PM Modi inaugurated and launched development projects worth approximately Rs 18,800 crore in Surat. He described the city as an example of transformation, noting its journey from being associated with a plague outbreak to becoming a national benchmark for cleanliness.
