PM Modi Hails Puducherry CM Rangasamy On His Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended heartfelt birthday greetings to Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy.

Sharing his message on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister praised Rangasamy’s enduring commitment to public service and his efforts in addressing the aspirations of the people of Puducherry.

“Greetings to Puducherry’s Chief Minister, Shri N. Rangasamy Ji on his birthday. He has been providing great leadership to Puducherry and fulfilling the aspirations of the people. May he lead a long and healthy life,” PM Modi posted.

N Rangasamy, the founding leader of the All India NR Congress (AINRC), is currently serving his fourth term as the Chief Minister of Puducherry.

Known for his administrative efficiency and approachability, Rangasamy has earned the trust of the people across party lines over the last two decades.

Before establishing the AINRC in 2011, he served in the Congress party, holding key ministerial positions in previous governments.

Development and Governance

Under Rangasamy’s leadership, Puducherry has witnessed progress in education, healthcare, and rural infrastructure.

Despite the financial limitations of a small Union Territory, his government has focused on people-first policies and maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Efforts to strengthen tourism, attract investment, and expand social welfare schemes have defined his most recent tenure.

The Prime Minister’s public recognition of Rangasamy also reflects the strong alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the AINRC.

Their coalition was formed ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections and played a decisive role in dislodging the Congress-led government in Puducherry.

Since then, the BJP and AINRC have worked together in administering the region, with the Centre extending its support to several initiatives.

A Day of Simplicity and Celebration

While the day marks a personal milestone, Chief Minister Rangasamy chose to keep the celebrations modest.

He attended several public events and welcomed well-wishers at his official residence in Puducherry.

His grounded approach and personal connection continue to be key aspects of his popularity in the region.

As the BJP and AINRC alliance prepares for the next electoral cycle, PM Modi’s praise signals continued cooperation and mutual respect between the Centre and Puducherry’s leadership.

It also underscores the Centre’s encouragement of regional leaders who prioritise governance and development.
