Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will meet in Mumbai on Tuesday to review progress under the India-France strategic partnership and discuss key regional and global developments.
President Macron is on an official visit to India from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi to participate in the AI Impact Summit. This will be his fourth visit to India and his first official engagement in Mumbai.
At around 3:15 pm, the two leaders will hold bilateral talks at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, discussions will include a comprehensive review of advancements under the India-France Strategic Partnership, with a focus on strengthening ties and expanding cooperation in emerging and future-oriented sectors.
They are also expected to exchange views on significant regional and global issues. Later, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the leaders will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026. They will address business leaders, start-up founders, researchers and innovators from both nations.
Several world leaders are scheduled to attend the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the summit is anchored in three ‘Sutras’: People, Planet and Progress, reflecting India’s approach to global cooperation in Artificial Intelligence.
Other leaders expected include Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, among others.
Ministerial delegations from over 45 countries, along with the UN Secretary-General and representatives of international organisations, are also slated to participate.
