PM Modi Felicitated By NDA MPs At Key Parliamentary Party Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received heartfelt felicitations from MPs of the BJP‑led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor during the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting held in the Parliament Library Building (PLB) in New Delhi.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of a paralysed Parliament, with opposition parties demanding a debate and withdrawal of the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar—a contentious initiative that has triggered sustained protests.

Amid thunderous applause, participants chanted ‘Har Har Mahadev’ in celebration, acknowledging both Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev as significant security undertakings praised by NDA legislators for bolstering national integrity and stability.

Key figures from both Houses attended, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, along with other senior NDA leaders from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Ongoing protests in the Lok Sabha prevented discussion of two key pieces of legislation: the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, and the National Anti‑Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

The impasse reflects mounting tension between the ruling and opposition parties over the SIR issue.

Parallel to the NDA meeting, leaders of the INDIA bloc convened at 10 AM in the opposition office within the Parliament Library Building.

Later, NDA MPs will stage a protest at 10:30 AM in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament, chanting slogans like ‘Our vote, our right, our fight’ against the SIR exercise in Bihar.

Lok Sabha proceedings resumed on Tuesday with obituary tributes to former MPs Tilakdhari Prasad Singh, Ram Rati Bind, and Shibu Soren. Following the tributes, the House awaits the moving of key sports bills.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat’s List of Business states that Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will propose amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022, and introduce the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, for consideration and passage.

The parliamentary party meeting reaffirmed the NDA leadership’s solidarity and unity in the face of escalating political tensions.

While negotiations on major legislative initiatives remain stalled, the alliance’s strategy to balance reverence for national security operations with assertive protest marks a defining political moment in the Monsoon Session.
