PM Modi Extols VP Venkaiah Naidu’s Legacy On 75th Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm birthday wishes to former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on his 75th birthday today. Modi praised Naidu’s unwavering commitment, adaptability, and dedication to public service. He shared an article highlighting Naidu’s journey from a seasoned BJP leader to Vice President, commending his ability to navigate Indian politics with ease and humility.

Modi expressed hope that Naidu’s life serves as an inspiration for young activists and elected representatives, emphasizing that leaders like him contribute significantly to the nation’s progress. He acknowledged learning from Naidu over their long association, noting Naidu’s deep-rooted love for people and ideological commitment.

Reflecting on Naidu’s political journey starting from student politics in Andhra Pradesh to his leadership roles within the Sangh Parivar, Modi praised his contributions during critical moments such as the anti-Emergency movement and the N T Ramarao government dismissal agitation.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Naidu’s dedication to rural development, recalling his preference for the Ministry of Rural Development during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure. Modi applauded Naidu’s tenure as Vice President, noting his efforts to enhance the dignity of the office and ensure inclusive participation in the Rajya Sabha.

Finally, Modi recalled a poignant moment when Naidu, as Chair of the Rajya Sabha, oversaw the passage of decisions on Articles 370 and 35(A), realizing the dream of a united India envisioned by Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
