Significance and Observance

Millions around the world continue to draw inspiration from Prophet Muhammad, who was born in Mecca around 570 CE and taught compassion, equality, and justice.

This year, the festivities began on Thursday, September 4, and conclude on Friday, coinciding with the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.

Milad-un-Nabi is not only a day of celebration but also a reminder of the enduring values of justice, compassion, and unity that the Prophet espoused. Followers reflect on his teachings and seek to apply them in daily life, reinforcing social harmony and the spirit of community service.
