PM Modi Extends Birthday Wishes To Kerala CM VD Satheesan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended birthday greetings to Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan, who celebrated his 62nd birthday.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wished Satheesan a long life and good health. The message quickly gained attention as leaders from across the political spectrum joined in wishing the Chief Minister.

Adding to the significance of the occasion, Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) state president Thushar Vellappally visited Satheesan at his residence in Aluva and conveyed his greetings personally.

BDJS is a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Kerala, making the visit noteworthy amid the state’s political landscape.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Thushar dismissed any political interpretation of the visit. He described it as a courtesy call and said he had shared a long-standing personal relationship with Satheesan.

The interaction attracted attention because of the political rivalry between the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government and the NDA in Kerala.

Leaders from both sides stressed that personal friendships often transcend political differences.

Satheesan became Kerala Chief Minister after leading the UDF to victory in the Assembly elections. Before assuming office, he served as Leader of the Opposition and played a key role in strengthening the Congress organisation and expanding the UDF’s reach across the state.

Since assuming office, Satheesan has prioritised governance reforms, welfare programmes, infrastructure development and investment-led growth.

Leaders from across political parties, along with social and cultural organisations, extended birthday wishes, while party workers organised blood donation drives and charitable activities across Kerala.

Observers said PM Modi’s message and Thushar Vellappally’s visit highlighted cordial personal ties beyond political differences.
