Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reaffirmed India’s uncompromising position on terrorism, vowing that the country will take decisive and pre-emptive action against any threat.
Addressing Air Force personnel at the Adampur Air Base in Punjab’s Jalandhar, PM Modi further declared that India would not allow terrorists to operate with impunity.
“We will strike them in their own homes and leave no room for escape,” said the Prime Minister in a forceful statement, originally delivered in Hindi: “Hum ghar mein ghus kar maarenge aur bachne ka ek mauka tak nahi denge.”
PM Modi’s remarks come just days after hostilities between India and Pakistan eased, and shortly after the successful conclusion of Operation Sindoor, a military operation that drew widespread attention.

During his visit to Adampur, Prime Minister Modi further engaged with members of the Indian Air Force, commending them for their role in the mission.
“The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy have dealt a decisive blow to the Pakistani army, on which these terrorists had placed their hopes. There is now no safe haven in Pakistan for such elements,” PM Modi asserted.
Highlighting a shift in India’s security doctrine, the Prime Minister said Operation Sindoor represents a ‘new normal’ in India’s approach to counterterrorism.
PM Modi further declared that India’s ‘Laxman Rekha’ against terrorism is now clearly defined and any breach would result in a solid and immediate response.
“India has shown this before—during the surgical strikes and the air strikes. Now, Operation Sindoor has cemented this as our standard response,” Prime Minister Modi said.
PM Modi also articulated the three core principles guiding India’s national security in the current geopolitical climate:
PM Modi stated, “As I mentioned yesterday, India has adopted a new approach. We will not differentiate between terrorists and the governments that harbour them. The world is also beginning to recognise and align with this evolving Indian strategy.”
On Monday, PM Modi had already delivered a bold message following Operation Sindoor, warning that India would not tolerate nuclear threats and would retaliate firmly against any form of terrorism.
Tuesday’s speech reinforced that stance and sent a clear signal that India’s patience with hostile actors has worn thin.
With global attention focused on the subcontinent, the Prime Minister aimed his words at reassuring Indian citizens and warning adversaries that India will meet any future aggression not with restraint, but with strength.
