Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Keiko Fujimori following her victory in Peru’s presidential election.
In a post on X, PM Modi conveyed his best wishes for her tenure and expressed confidence that India and Peru would further strengthen their partnership through closer cooperation.
Highlighting the strong relationship between the two countries, the Prime Minister said India highly values its friendship with Peru. He reiterated New Delhi’s resolve to deepen engagement across multiple sectors and said he looked forward to working closely with the President-elect for the shared benefit of both nations.

Peru’s National Jury of Elections officially declared Keiko Fujimori of the Popular Force party as the winner of the presidential election held on 7 June.
During the declaration ceremony, National Jury of Elections President Roberto Burneo announced that the Peruvian people had elected Fujimori to lead the country for the 2026–2031 term.
Official figures released by the National Office of Electoral Processes showed that Fujimori secured more than 50 per cent of the total votes. She will assume office on 28 July along with First Vice President Luis Galarreta and Second Vice President Miguel Torres.
India and Peru have steadily expanded cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, mining, pharmaceuticals, information technology, agriculture and cultural exchanges.
India has also intensified its diplomatic engagement with Latin America, with Peru playing an important role in the region.
The Prime Minister’s message reflected India’s intention to build on its existing partnership with Peru. His remarks underscored New Delhi’s commitment to advancing political, economic and strategic cooperation while strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
