PM Modi Calls Team India’s Victory ‘Operation Sindoor On The Games Field’

Prime Minister Modi praised the Indian cricket team for their thrilling performance in the Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final.

Chasing a modest target of 147, India experienced early setbacks, slipping to 20/3 after losing Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill cheaply.

The tide turned thanks to a composed and masterful innings by Tilak Varma, who remained unbeaten on 69 off 51 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes.

Varma rebuilt the innings with Sanju Samson (24) in a 57-run partnership, then added a 60-run stand with Shivam Dube (33), ensuring India crossed the line with precision.

Rinku Singh finished the chase with a stylish boundary, sealing a memorable victory.

Spinners Lead the Comeback

India’s spinners were instrumental in turning the match around. Kuldeep Yadav, after conceding 23 runs in his first two overs, returned brilliantly to claim 4/30, including three crucial wickets in the pivotal 17th over.

Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy took two wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with two at the death, dismantling Pakistan’s strong start of 113/1 in just 12.4 overs.

Pakistan’s innings collapsed, losing nine wickets for 33 runs, finishing at 146 in 19.1 overs.

Moreover, early contributions from Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman could not prevent India’s tight bowling and tactical fielding from dominating the game.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.”

The victory drew parallels with India’s recent armed operations, highlighting the nation’s determination and spirit across all fields.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated the team, writing, “A phenomenal victory. The fierce energy of our boys blew up the rivals again. Bharat is destined to win no matter which field.”

His message reinforced national pride and celebrated the players’ grit, courage, and focus under pressure.

Furthermore, India’s Asia Cup 2025 victory stands as a testament to teamwork, strategy, and resilience.

From the spinners’ magical spells to Tilak Varma’s calm and fearless batting, the performance symbolised the strength of Indian cricket and the nation’s enduring spirit, inspiring millions of fans worldwide.
