On 25 July 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked 4,078 continuous days in office, surpassing former PM Indira Gandhi’s record.
The BJP celebrated the achievement. It called it a testament to the enduring trust placed in PM Modi by the people of India.
BJP leader Rohan Gupta stated, “This record belongs to the people. Their faith in PM Modi has taken the nation to new heights, be it GDP growth, job creation, or national morale.”
The BJP lauded PM Modi’s consistent electoral success. They noted he is the only non-Congress PM to complete two full terms. He also secured a third term with a majority.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal called him the ‘flagbearer of Indian democracy’. Danish Azad Ansari highlighted his post-Independence birth as another historic first.
Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra observed that PM Modi is the only non-Congress PM to serve three consecutive terms, while Bihar Minister Neeraj Singh Bablu said, “The world’s most popular leader is Indian, our Prime Minister.”
BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar confidently declared that PM Modi would win again in 2029, stating, “This isn’t just about tenure, it’s about impact. From Operation Sindoor to welfare schemes like PM Awas Yojana, his achievements are unmatched.”
Echoing this, JD(U)’s Madan Sahni praised PM Modi’s tough stance against terrorism and his developmental vision, while Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Sarang credited him with reforms in foreign policy, economy, and women’s empowerment.
From serving as Gujarat’s Chief Minister in 2001 to leading the nation for nearly 24 years, PM Modi now holds the record as India’s longest-serving non-Congress PM.
He has defined his tenure through consistent leadership, majority victories, and a clear vision for national progress.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury offered a contrasting view, claiming that death and tragedy cut short the tenures of Nehru and Indira Gandhi, not electoral defeat. “There’s no point in comparing records under such circumstances,” he added.
BJP leaders have predicted another term for PM Modi in 2029. His governance record continues to earn widespread praise. PM Modi’s legacy grows, built on public trust, decisive leadership, and a transformative vision for India’s future.
