PM Modi Arrives In Gujarat For Two-Day Visit To Celebrate Sardar Patel’s Legacy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome in Gujarat on Thursday as he arrived for a two-day visit to participate in the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) celebrations, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — India’s Iron Man.

Upon his arrival at Vadodara Airport, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, and senior officials, including the Commissioner and District Collector, greeted the Prime Minister.

Crowds gathered at the airport to extend their enthusiastic welcome, waving flags and chanting slogans as PM Modi waved back before departing for Ekta Nagar.

At Ekta Nagar, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for several infrastructure and development projects aimed at enhancing tourism and connectivity in the region surrounding the Statue of Unity.

He will also inaugurate a range of completed projects under the state’s ongoing developmental initiatives.

To mark the milestone occasion, PM Modi will release a special commemorative coin of ₹150 denomination and a postal stamp in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.

These releases symbolise the nation’s gratitude to the leader who played a pivotal role in unifying India.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Celebrations

On Friday, Prime Minister Modi will lead the grand ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ celebrations by offering floral tributes to the statue of Sardar Patel and administering the Ekta Diwas pledge to promote unity and integrity across the nation.

This year’s celebration holds special significance, featuring a cultural festival and a Unity Parade at the Statue of Unity complex in Ekta Nagar.

The parade, modelled on the Republic Day celebrations, will showcase India’s diversity and the collective strength of its security forces.

According to the Gujarat government, the parade will include contingents from the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), alongside various state police units.

A key highlight this year is the BSF’s marching contingent featuring exclusively Indian dog breeds such as Rampur Hounds and Mudhol Hounds.

The parade will also include the Gujarat Police’s Horse Contingent, Assam Police’s Motorcycle Daredevil Show, and the BSF’s Camel Contingent with its Camel Mounted Band.

The Ekta Diwas parade will feature around ten tableaux representing states and agencies, including the NSG, NDRF, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Manipur, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Puducherry.

Each tableau will depict the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity’, reflecting the spirit of national integration envisioned by Sardar Patel.

PM Modi’s presence at the celebrations underscores his government’s commitment to national unity, development, and the enduring legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
