Police believe that ongoing construction work may have triggered the collapse, as the building was constructed only four years ago. Most victims were working on the ground floor when the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered district officials to speed up relief operations. He ensured that all injured received prompt medical attention. “The CM has directed SDRF and NDRF teams to reach the site and expedite relief efforts,” his office stated on X.

Rescue teams continue to search through the debris, while authorities investigate the cause of the collapse.
