PM Modi Announces 10-Point Women’s Guarantee In Bengal; Targets TMC

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced a ten-point guarantee for women in West Bengal, promising financial assistance, enhanced safety, and employment opportunities if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power in the state.

Addressing a rally in Krishnanagar, PM Modi targeted the Trinamool Congress and the INDIA bloc, accusing them of obstructing the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament. He asserted that those opposing women’s rights would face consequences in the ongoing elections.

The Prime Minister said the guarantees would ensure protection and sustainable livelihoods for women across the state.

“Those who commit atrocities against women and daughters in Bengal will be punished. Every block will have a Mahila Thana. Women will be recruited into the police force on a large scale. Within a year, Rs 36,000 will be transferred to women’s accounts,” PM Modi stated.

The Prime Minister added that financial support would include:

• Rs 50,000 for girls’ graduation,
• Rs 21,000 for pregnant mothers, and
• Rs 36,000 for child nutrition

Additional benefits would come through schemes such as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Mudra loans up to Rs 20 lakh, and the promotion of ‘Lakhpati Didis’. Healthcare and housing benefits under Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana would also prioritise women.

PM Modi also criticised the government led by Mamata Banerjee for its handling of illegal infiltration, pledging protection for genuine refugees. He said citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act would be expedited after the polls.

The Prime Minister also took a swipe at the ruling party over criticism of his recent Jhalmuri break during campaigning. He said the reaction came as a shock to some leaders.
