Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in New York on Sunday, the second day of his U.S. visit. He arrived at the Nassau Veterans Coliseum by helicopter after attending the ‘Quad Cancer Moonshot Event’ hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden.
During their meeting, PM Modi and President Biden finalized two critical agreements. The U.S. Space Force will establish a semiconductor manufacturing plant in India, focusing on advanced technologies for national security and green energy. The U.S. also agreed to provide India with 31 MQ-9B drones for border surveillance, a deal valued at approximately $3 billion.
After the Quad Summit, Modi participated in a cancer awareness event organized by Biden. During the program, Biden momentarily forgot Modi’s name while inviting him on stage, hesitating for about five seconds before an official signaled Modi to step forward.
