On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed warm birthday greetings to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, as he celebrated his 51st birthday.
Taking to X, PM Modi wished Mann, asserting, “Best wishes to Punjab CM Shri Bhagwant Mann Ji on his birthday. May Almighty bless him with a long life and good health.”
Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), also shared his wishes for CM Mann.
“Wishing the Chief Minister of Punjab and my younger brother @BhagwantMann a very happy birthday. May Waheguru always keep you happy and healthy and give you more strength to serve the people of Punjab,” Kejriwal posted on X.
The AAP marked Mann’s special day with a vibrant celebration.
Taking to X, the party posted, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes on the birthday of Harman Pyare Chief Minister @BhagwantMann ji, who established Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘politics of work’ in Punjab. May Waheguru Ji keep you healthy and happy forever.”
Bhagwant Mann’s political career is nothing short of extraordinary. Born in 1973 in Satoj village, Sangrur, he graduated with a degree in Commerce from Shaheed Udham Singh Government College in 1992.
His journey to popularity began at the young age of 18 with the release of an audio cassette, which propelled him into the limelight.
Meanwhile, his subsequent success in television, particularly through shows like ‘Jugnu Kehnda Hai’ and ‘Jugnu Mast Mast,’ further solidified his popularity.
CM Mann initially aligned with the People’s Party of Punjab before joining the AAP.
He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in May 2014 from the Sangrur constituency, defeating Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
He also secured re-election in May 2019, once again representing Sangrur, overcoming competitors Kewal Singh Dhillon of the Indian National Congress and Parminder Singh Dhindsa from the Shiromani Akali Dal.
In January 2022, AAP selected Mann as its candidate for Chief Minister in the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections.
Despite facing challenges and criticism from opposition parties, he has emerged as a pivotal figure in the state’s political landscape.
As Mann celebrates his birthday today, his remarkable transformation from a comedian to Chief Minister underscores a unique and inspiring trajectory in Indian politics.
His leadership continues to shape Punjab’s political narrative, earning him respect and admiration from both allies and opponents alike.
