Patna: Prashant Kishor Accused Of Threatening BPSC Protesters

Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor and his associates have been accused of threatening candidates protesting against the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) in Gardanibagh, Patna.

The incident occurred early on Monday when Patna police used lathi charge and water cannon, leaving several protesters injured.

A viral video has fueled these allegations, showing Kishor allegedly leaving the protest site as the police action unfolded.

In the video, a protester said, “We do not want your help, sir. You left the venue when the Patna police resorted to a lathi charge.”

This has led to claims that Kishor abandoned the protestors, damaging their trust in his support.

Kishor, however, defended his actions, claiming he had provided blankets to the protesters at their request but accused them of turning against him despite his assistance.

He reportedly stated, “You asked for blankets, and now you are opposing me.”

The candidates, however, denied ever requesting help and criticized his comments as veiled threats.

The situation escalated when Kishor allegedly warned the protesters, saying they would face consequences if they did not ‘breaking their arrogance’.

Members of his team reportedly threatened the protesters, warning them to ‘not speak too much’ or face forcible removal.

These remarks aimed to intimidate the candidates.

The controversy has drawn strong condemnation from Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament from Purnea.

Yadav criticized Kishor for his lack of experience in electoral politics and accused him of arrogance and threatening behavior.

Questioning Kishor’s leadership and motives, Yadav asserted, “Prashant Kishor has recently entered politics and is already threatening candidates. He has no real capacity in elections but continues to show arrogance.”

The BPSC candidates have been protesting for over a week, demanding the cancellation of the Preliminary Examination due to allegations of a question paper leak.
