Patna Hospital Murder: Gangster In West Bengal Jail Used Victim’s Family Link To Plan Attack

Bihar-based gangster Onkarnath Singh, popularly known as Sheru, currently incarcerated in a correctional home in Purulia district, West Bengal, reportedly masterminded the murder of his rival, Chandan Mishra, in Patna with the assistance of a family associate of Mishra.

According to West Bengal Police sources, one of Mishra’s family associates remains the ‘missing link’ in the investigation.

This individual provided Sheru with crucial details about Mishra’s parole, enabling the gangster to plan the murder meticulously.

“The missing link also reportedly persuaded Mishra to get admitted to Paras Hospital in Patna following Sheru’s instructions, allowing Sheru to execute his plan with ease,” a senior police official said.

Sheru and Mishra once collaborated on multiple criminal activities in Bihar’s Buxar region.

However, their relationship soured over various disputes, leading to a bitter rivalry. Each formed their own gang, marking a clear division and eventual animosity.

Further investigations revealed that Sheru exploited a close associate of Mishra, lodged in Beur jail, to keep tabs on Mishra’s movements and activities.

This associate played a pivotal role in the murder conspiracy by feeding Sheru with vital intelligence, the police added.

The Murder Plot Unfolds

Upon learning that Mishra had secured 15 days’ parole, Sheru planned his murder.

Police revealed that Mishra consulted a family associate for medical advice, and that associate maintained links with Sheru.

Acting on Sheru’s instructions, this associate advised Mishra to admit himself to Paras Hospital in Patna.

Sheru then engaged Tauseef, also known as Badshah, to carry out the murder.

Bihar Police and the Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police apprehended the prime accused and three accomplices in Kolkata during a joint operation on Saturday.

Police sources revealed that Sheru asked Badshah to identify a hospital suitable for the operation.

Badshah recommended Paras Hospital due to his familiarity with the Phulwari Sharif area of Patna, where he was raised. Paras Hospital’s proximity and reportedly lax security made it an ideal location for the crime.

Badshah had visited an associate undergoing treatment at Paras Hospital multiple times in recent days, learning about its security weaknesses and selecting it as the venue for the murder.

Following Mishra’s killing, Badshah and his team fled from Bihar to West Bengal under Sheru’s guidance.

Authorities are now searching for the elusive family associate involved in the conspiracy.

“We are tracking phone calls and WhatsApp messages of the arrested individuals, including Tauseef, to identify and locate the missing link,” said a senior police officer.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to unravel the full extent of this deadly conspiracy.

This report sheds light on the intricate planning behind the Patna hospital murder, exposing how criminal networks exploit close associates to orchestrate targeted killings, even from behind bars.
