Operation Sindoor: A National Resolve Against Terrorism, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 122nd ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast on May 25, 2025, hailed Operation Sindoor as a testament to India’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.

He remarked, “Today, the entire nation is united against terrorism, filled with anger but determined. Every Indian’s resolution is to eliminate terrorism.”

The operation, which targeted terrorist hideouts across borders, showcased the precision and bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, earning nationwide pride and admiration.

Operation Sindoor: Symbolising National Strength

The Prime Minister emphasised that Operation Sindoor was not merely a military mission but a reflection of India’s transformation.

He noted the widespread patriotic fervour, with citizens across cities and towns waving the Tricolour and participating in civil defence initiatives.

In regions like Chandigarh, youth gathered to volunteer for the armed forces, while children expressed their support through poems and artwork.

In Bihar’s Katihar and Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar, families named their newborns ‘Sindoor’ as a tribute to the operation’s significance.

Celebrating Indigenous Defence Capabilities

PM Modi lauded the role of ‘Made in India’ defence technologies in the success of Operation Sindoor.

He highlighted the indomitable courage of the armed forces, which was complemented by domestically developed weapons, equipment, and technology.

He urged citizens to prioritise local products, stating, “This is not just about economic self-reliance; it is a feeling of contributing towards nation-building.”

Institutionalising Civil Defence Preparedness

At a NITI Aayog meeting on May 24, 2025, PM Modi stressed that Operation Sindoor should serve as a catalyst for institutionalising civil defence readiness across Indian states.

He further advocated for a systemic approach to disaster response, integrating such preparedness into governance structures to enhance resilience and coordinated action in times of crisis.
