In a fresh outbreak of violence in the national capital, a man was shot dead and a minor was injured early Saturday in a shooting incident in Kabir Nagar, Delhi. The assailants reportedly stormed into the victim’s home in the Welcome police station area around dawn, where he was eating.
The deceased, identified as Nadeem, suffered fatal wounds after assailants fired five rounds, striking him in the head and spine. Another individual present at the scene escaped unharmed, while a minor was injured in the attack.
Eyewitnesses and local sources revealed that the assailants arrived on a motorcycle, barged into Nadeem’s home, and, after the shooting, fled on his scooter, leaving their bike behind. They also reportedly took his mobile phone before escaping. Nadeem’s younger brother, Nazim, stated that Nadeem, who worked in garment trading, was familiar with the attackers, suggesting a possible personal motive behind the crime.

Upon receiving the report, police quickly arrived at the scene, securing the area and beginning an investigation into the possible motives and suspects involved.
This recent shootout marks yet another incident in a series of violent attacks in Delhi. On Diwali night, a 40-year-old man and his teenage nephew were killed, and a 10-year-old was injured in a shooting while they celebrated outside their home in Farsh Bazar, Shahdara. Other recent incidents include a shooting at a ration shop in Nangloi in September, and multiple shots fired at both a luxury car showroom and a hotel in the Maipalpur area.
Authorities are currently examining the link between these incidents, raising concerns over the spike in violent crimes and gang-related activities in Delhi.
