Suspended JS(S) MP and prime accused in the obscene video case rooted in Karnataka, Prajwal Revanna is to be taken to a medical examination before being produced in the court.
Revanna was arrested at the airport as he landed in the city. Revanna returned to India from Berlin. He escaped from India on a diplomatic passport.
Prajwal was brought to the CID office in Bengaluru as soon as he landed at Kempagowda airport.
Charges of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation are levelled against him. A woman who worked at his household filed a complaint against him. Revanna is likely to face an investigation by SIT formed by the state government in an obscene video case.
Two of his check-in bags were confiscated by SIT and the team took them away in a separate car.
On May 27, Prajwal Revanna released a self-made video saying that he will appear before the court on May 31. Revanna claimed that he did not escape as his trip was preplanned. Revanna said that when voting took place in the state for the general election, there was no case against him. He accused the opposition parties of conspiracy as he ‘growing in politics’.
Spoke Person of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday said that a show cause notice was issued against Revanna on May 23 and action to revoke his passport was initiated.
SIT has already arrested two accused in connection with the case before the bail was filed by Revanna on May 29. The arrested have been identified as Naveen Gowda and Chetan Gowda.
