‘No Hindu Refugee Will Be Deported’: Amit Shah In Bengal

Amit Shah on Monday declared that the government will not deport any Hindu refugee who sought shelter in West Bengal due to religious persecution.

Addressing a rally at Raidighi in South 24 Parganas during the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra, he assured the gathering that the Union Government will protect their Indian citizenship.

He made the remarks amid concerns within the Matua community about possible deletions from the voter list following document verification by the Election Commission of India.

Shah added that the government will safeguard Hindu refugees and identify and remove illegal infiltrators through due legal process.

The Home Minister also outlined several commitments that the BJP should make if it forms the next government in West Bengal after the forthcoming Assembly elections.

He announced a proposed allocation of Rs 5,700 crore for women’s empowerment schemes, aimed at ensuring dignity, security and economic independence for women across the state.

Addressing state government employees’ grievances over dearness allowance disparities with central government staff, Shah promised implementation of a new pay structure in line with the 7th Pay Commission.

He further stated that the government would begin filling vacant posts in the state administration by the end of the current calendar year if voted to power.

Shah also pledged strong legal action against those involved in corruption during the 16 years of rule by the All India Trinamool Congress.

He said authorities would curb the influence of criminal networks, strengthen law and order, and take strict action against individuals accused of serious crimes and corruption.

With these assurances and promises, Shah signalled an intensified political campaign in West Bengal ahead of the crucial state elections.
