India’s largest iron ore producer, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), received the prestigious Best Digital Transformation Initiative Award at the seventh edition of the Technology Excellence Summit held in Hyderabad. The award was presented to NMDC Executive Director Satyendra Rai in recognition of the company’s successful digital transformation journey.
NMDC has made a significant leap towards digital transformation by successfully implementing SAP S/4 HANA, an advanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. This initiative integrates all core business modules and industry-specific solutions tailored for the mining sector. Notably, NMDC became the first central public sector unit (CPSU) in India to adopt ERP on this platform.
Expressing his delight upon receiving the award, Executive Director Satyendra Rai emphasized that the main objective behind adopting the ERP solution was to streamline NMDC’s business processes. He highlighted the following benefits of the transformation:
