“Nitish Can’t Be PM, Post Not Available,” Amit Shah Slams Bihar CM’s Ambition

Taking notes from the Sasaram and Biharsharif communal violence, Union Home Minister has slammed the Nitish Kumar-led government as the rioters in Bihar will be “hung upside down” if BJP returns to office at the start of 2025. Moreover, the union minister also took on his former ally Nitish Kumar over his ambition for Prime Minister’s post.

Addressing the rally in Nawada district’s Hisua, “I pray for the return of peace to Bihar. As there is no point in advising the government here, I called the governor. The law and order situation in Bihar is part of my brief.”

‘Nitish can’t be PM’

He also declared that the post is not vacant and added, “Since the people have decided to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister for the third time.”

During his address, he also said, “One person wants to become the Prime Minister and Lalu ji’s son wants to be the Chief Minister.”

In a jibe at Nitish Kumar, the union minister said, “I want to tell Lalu-ji – you know Nitish, he can’t be the Prime Minister, the post is not available. People of the country have decided that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term. Once that happens, Nitish Kumar will go back on his promise of handing over the mantle to his deputy Tejashwi Yadav as his dreams of becoming the Prime Minister will be shattered.”

There are possibilities that Nitish Kumar plans to hand over the Chief Minister’s post to Tejashwi Yadav once he shifts to Delhi.

However, both leaders have dismissed the possibility till now.

We are happy where we are!

Last month, in the state assembly, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Neither he (Nitish Kumar) wants to become the PM nor do I want to become Chief Minister. We are happy where we are.”

In 2022, Nitish Kumar ended his 30-plus years of partnership with the BJP after reports that Amit Shah was foraging within the JD(U) for defectors. The move threw the BJP out of power. However, Nitish Kumar reset his government within 24 hours by reviving the grand alliance with Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal and six other parties, leaving the BJP out of any prospective allies.
