NIA attaches the properties of two key Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives for their involvement in the 2015 terror attack

Due to their participation in the 2015 terror attack on a BSF convoy in the Jammu and Kashmir district of Udhampur, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday attached the properties of two important Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives.

The attack, which happened on August 5, 2015, at around 7 a.m. on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Narsoo ‘nallah’ in village Narsoo of district Udhampur, left two BSF personnel dead and thirteen others injured. The security forces responded with retaliation, killing one terrorist and arresting another, named Naveed.

The two defendants, whose properties were attached today, were also taken into custody and are presently appearing in court at the NIA Special Court in Jammu. The NIA investigations have revealed that the two individuals, Fayaz Ahmed Itoo at Fayaz Khar and Khursheed Ahmed Bhat at Khursheed Alam Bhat at Surya, are affiliated with the outlawed LeT terror group, which is supported by Pakistan.

The prime accused in the case (RC-08/2015/NIA/DLI) have all been charged and are presently undergoing trial under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act of 1967, the Arms Act, the Explosive Substances Act 1946, the Passport (Entry into India Act 1920), and the Ranbir Penal Code.
