Pakistan has been trying to sneak into Indian affairs time and again and this time its intelligence operatives (PIOs) have targeted Indian students from schools and colleges including Army Public Schools across India. Students are reportedly getting calls and WhatsApp messages from Pakistan Intelligence Operatives and being asked to join certain social media groups. They were also asked to share some sensitive information via these calls and messages.
These callers usually pose them as teachers and ask students to join ‘new class groups’ by sending them OTPs. To gain the trust of these students, they initially mention a person who is known to them. The objective is to make them believe that they’re their teachers.

They call on WhatsApp to be filtered out from records. The two numbers from which students are receiving such calls and WhatsApp messages are 8617321715 and 9622262167. Yes, they seem to be Indian numbers but they are being used by Pak intelligence.
Not that their sneaking is limited to these two numbers, they might contact from other possible numbers as well.
The principals of Army Public Schools have issued an advisory on these calls to students and teachers. The PIOs ask students about their father’s job, routine, school timings, teacher’s names, uniform, etc. They use this information for other calls in order to gain trust. Once they achieve that trust level, the game becomes easy for them.
Army has therefore issued an advisory in the public interest asking people, particularly students to be aware of any such calls or messages.
