As preparations intensify for the historic Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, the Yogi government is prioritizing the health and well-being of pilgrims. A significant initiative, the ‘Netra Kumbh’ eye camp, will be established to provide comprehensive eye care services to devotees.
With a budget exceeding ₹9.15 crore, the Netra Kumbh project aims to offer vision correction, cataract surgeries, and eyeglasses to thousands of attendees. A central unit will serve as the primary eye care center within the main Mela area, ensuring easy access for all visitors.
Maha Kumbh 2025 is anticipated to attract a record number of devotees from across India and around the globe. The initiative is part of broader efforts by the Yogi government and Mela administration to create a seamless and secure experience for all participants.

In addition to eye care services, the Netra Kumbh will focus on raising awareness about the importance of eye health. Comprehensive eye check-ups will utilize modern testing equipment, with eye specialists on hand to assess vision impairments.
Those requiring glasses will receive them on-site, while patients needing further treatment, such as cataract surgery, will be referred to partner hospitals.
The camp will also gather eye health data from screenings, which will be securely stored in digital format for ongoing monitoring and follow-up care when necessary.
Officials are committed to encouraging devotees to take advantage of this valuable facility, ensuring that sufficient eye specialists, equipment, and supplies are available throughout the event.
This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the overall health services available at the Maha Kumbh, reinforcing the government’s dedication to the welfare of its citizens during this momentous occasion.
