In a bid to maintain cleanliness and environmental balance following the successful organization of Maha Kumbh 2025, the Prayagraj Mela Authority launched a comprehensive cleanliness drive in Sector 7. On Monday, around 90 cadets from the Uttar Pradesh 6 UP Girls Battalion NCC and UP Naval NCC participated actively in the initiative.
The cleanliness drive, led by Subedar Major Harvinder Singh, Lieutenant Colonel Farah Diba, and PI Arvind Kumar, focused on garbage collection and disposal. The NCC cadets worked tirelessly to ensure the Kumbh Mela area remained clean and contributed to maintaining the environmental equilibrium of the region.
The cleanliness drive was carried out under the guidance of the Prayagraj Mela Authority, with the support of key local officials. Deputy District Magistrate (SDM) Ashutosh, Health and Sanitation Officer (SMO) Dr. Vivek Kumar Pandey, and other officials were present to oversee the efforts and ensure the drive’s success.
Their involvement underscored the importance of teamwork and government support in maintaining the cleanliness of the Mela area.
The two-hour cleanliness campaign further saw the cadets demonstrate great enthusiasm and commitment to the cause. With their coordinated efforts, they helped in clearing waste and ensuring the area remained free of litter, playing a crucial role in preserving the environment.
To recognize the hard work and dedication of the cadets, the Prayagraj Mela Authority honored them at the closing ceremony. This gesture aimed to motivate them to continue their commitment to social service and environmental causes.
The Prayagraj Mela Authority further reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the cleanliness of the Mela area through such initiatives. The Authority also urged all participants and visitors to be mindful of cleanliness, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly atmosphere during future events.
