‘Nation First’: Amit Shah Highlights LK Advani’s Contribution On Birthday

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah greeted veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani on his birthday, describing his public life as an example of service to the nation and commitment to the principle of ‘Nation First’.

In a post on X, Shah acknowledged Advani’s contribution to the BJP and his journey from an ordinary family background to some of the country’s most prominent political positions.

Shah noted that Advani had helped establish the BJP, served as its national president and later became India’s Deputy Prime Minister.

The Minister highlighted the veteran leader’s dedication, sacrifices and commitment to his ideology.

Describing him as a guiding example for party workers, Shah said Advani’s life demonstrated the importance of putting the country and its interests above everything else. He further prayed for the senior leader’s good health.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Advani’s birthday by publishing an article reflecting on his political journey and contribution to India.

The Prime Minister recalled several significant phases of Advani’s life, including his experiences during Partition, his role in strengthening the Jana Sangh and establishing the BJP, his opposition to the Emergency and his leadership of the Somnath-to-Ayodhya Rath Yatra.

PM Modi acknowledged Advani’s contributions in government and highlighted his interests beyond politics, particularly reading, cinema, culture and writing. He extended his birthday greetings, noting that the veteran leader had entered his 100th year on November 8.
