Shortly before taking control of an aircraft to Pune on Thursday, an Indigo pilot passed away after collapsing at the airport’s boarding gate. It has happened again in India in the past two days that a pilot has perished in a similar incident.
“One of our pilots passed away in Nagpur earlier today, and we are grieved about this. Sadly, he died in the hospital after becoming ill at the airport in Nagpur. In a statement, Indigo expressed its condolences to the man’s family and friends.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the pilot had flown in two early-morning sectors the day before he passed away: Trivandrum-Pune-Nagpur, between 3 and 7 am.
After taking 27 hours of recuperation, the pilot was slated to fly four sectors today, beginning at 1 pm. His first sector was to depart from Nagpur, the aviation authority stated.
