PM Inaugurates MV Ganga Vilas
MV Ganga Vilas: Ahead the inauguration of the world’s longest luxury cruise, MV Ganga Vilas in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, PM Modi has also launched several projects. MV Ganga Vilas will travel from Varanasi to Assam’s Dibrugarh via Bangladesh. It will be a tour of 51 days and will cost each person Rs 25000 per night. Tickets are available through the website of Antara Luxury River Cruises.
Ganga Vilas will not only cater to Indians but also foreigners. While launching the cruise, PM Modi shared a special message for foreign tourists and said, “I have a message for all foreign visitors, India has everything that you can imagine and beyond. India cannot be defined in words, it can only be experienced.”
Ahead the launch, Prime Minister said, “The beginning of the world’s longest river cruise service on river Ganga is a landmark moment. It will herald a new age of tourism in India.”
“Ganga is not just a river to us. It is a witness to India’s glorious history. With a new approach, we began the cleanliness drive of Namami Gange,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi has inaugurated Tent City built on the banks of River Ganga in Varanasi today via video conferencing.
Tent City has been conceptualized on the banks of the River Ganga to tap the potential of tourism in the region. The project has been developed opposite to city Ghats which will provide accommodation facilities and cater to the increased tourist influx in Varanasi, especially since the inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
The city has been developed by Varanasi Development Authority. The tourists will reach the Tent City by boats from different Ghats situated in the vicinity. The tent city will be operational from October to June every year and will be dismantled for three months due to rise in river water level in the rainy season.

Prime Minister Modi also laid foundation stones for several inland waterways projects worth more than Rs 1,000 crore.
PM Modi said, “Today, foundation stones have been laid for several other inland waterways projects worth more than Rs 1000 crore. This will expand trade and tourism and employment opportunities in eastern India.”
