Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari on Tuesday was admitted to Uttar Pradesh’s Banda Medical College. He was admitted after his health deteriorated in jail.
Mukhtar’s son, Umar Ansari claimed that his father has been shifted to the ICU ward of the Banda Medical College.
Mukhtar Ansari’s lawyer Naseem Haider said, “Some reports are pending. He is stable but he is facing difficulty in speaking.”
Heavy security has been deployed outside the hospital.
Ansari is currently serving life imprisonment in the Banda jail in Uttar Pradesh.
Mukhtar Ansari has around 60 cases pending against him in UP, Punjab, New Delhi and other states.
Earlier on 13 March, Ansari was sentenced to life imprisonment in a case related to the use of forged documents for obtaining an arms licence in 1990.
