The book Modi Katha will explore Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s humane side through 10 true stories highlighting his compassion, affection and sensitivity.
The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in New Delhi will release the book on September 17, marking PM Modi’s birthday.
Journalist, columnist and author Harish Chandra Burnwal wrote the book, which Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal will formally launch.
Published by Prabhat Prakashan, Modi Katha is Burnwal’s fifth book on the Prime Minister. It draws on real-life incidents and personal recollections collected over 25 years.
The stories include a 1990 train journey involving two female passengers whose perception of politicians changed after they experienced PM Modi’s warmth and selfless conduct.
Another account explores his bond with Jeet Bahadur, a teenager from Nepal whom PM Modi supported as an ordinary party worker and continued to embrace after becoming Prime Minister.
The book recounts teacher Geetaben’s interaction with visually impaired student Pinkal, which contributed to special Union Budget provisions for visually impaired students.
Other accounts describe immediate assistance that saved Taiba in Agra and PM Modi’s companionship with ordinary people, including Hubballi labourer Chandrakant.
Burnwal uses simple language and an emotionally engaging narrative while listing sources for each story to address doubts based on preconceived notions.
Burnwal runs a YouTube channel focused on political analysis. His other publications include Modi Sutra, Modi Neeti, Lord of Records and Unsung Sangh. He has, however, received the Bharatendu Harishchandra Award, the Hindi Akademi Award and several other journalism and literature honours.
