PM Modi underlines unwavering ties with Palestine

Keeping Israel as one of the most trusted allies, India reaffirms its ‘unwavering’ support to Palestinian cause.

During the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the people of Palestine, PM Narendra Modi holds in an official statement, “India has always been supporting the Palestinian people through their pursuit of social and economical development with self-reliance and dignity.”

Addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, PM Modi says that he hopes “direct talks” between Israel and Palestine are going to resume.

On this occasion, representing India’s thought and its solidarity with the people of Palestine, the Prime Minister reaffirms India’s “unwavering support” to the Palestine. PM Modi also extended his wishes to the people of Palestinian “in the journey to achieve prosperity, peace and statehood”.

PM Modi added, “Indian ties with the friendly denizens of Palestine are rooted in the common history of ours. World has witnessed India supporting the Palestinian people always in their pursuit of social and economical development coupled with self-reliance and dignity.”

Indian Prime Minister was speaking to the dignitaries gathered for the occasion pertaining to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In his address  PM Modi emphasized on the hope of the peace saying that “direct talks” between the two countries will certainly resume “ towards finding a negotiated and comprehensive solution”.

Highlighting the various Indian initiatives launched for supporting Palestine over the decades, the Prime Minister also wrote: “India has always been at the forefront of its developmental assistance to Palestine over the years.”

India has been pushing for talks for so long between the two countries. At the UN Security Council in 2021, the then permanent representative to the UN from India, TS Tirumurti made a well crafted statement, which appears to hold Israel responsible of triggering the series of violence in the Palestinian area locating its beginnings in East Jerusalem instead of from Gaza.
