Mobile thief gang busted at IGI Airport, three arrested, 12 mobile phones recovered

Delhi Police: On the basis of the questioning of Sher Singh, raids were conducted at the places of Pawan Kumar, Arun Kumar, Manish Kumar and Satendra Yadav. Both the drivers Manish Kumar and Satendra Yadav were arrested from their hideout.

IGI Airport: The airport police has busted a mobile theft gang active in the cargo area of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport). The police have arrested three accused and recovered 12 phones from them. In this case, the airport police had registered three cases and after that efforts were on to nab the gang that had carried out the theft.

Jaswant Singh had lodged a complaint with the police that 17 mobile phones (Samsung Galaxy M-32 and Samsung Galaxy M-33) were stolen from his consignment which was to be exported to Dubai. After the phone was stolen from the consignment on the way from the godown to the cargo area, the complainant lodged a case with the police station, after which the police got involved in the investigation.

A team was formed under the leadership of SHO Yashpal Singh and raids were conducted at several places. The stolen mobiles were kept on surveillance and they were being continuously monitored. After a few days, some of these mobile phones became active in Bareilly and surrounding areas. After this, the police team intensified the investigation and found out that Sher Singh of Bareilly had sold mobile phones to different people.

5 mobiles recovered from Sher Singh’s possession

After this information came to the fore, the police team raided and Sher Singh was arrested. During interrogation in this case, Sher Singh disclosed that he had bought 17 Samsung Galaxy mobile phones from Arun Kumar and Pawan Kumar at throwaway prices. He also disclosed that Pawan and Arun used to buy stolen mobile phones from two drivers working in Anand Cargo Company. During the search, 05 high-end Samsung mobile phones were recovered from the possession of Sher Singh.

On the basis of the interrogation of Sher Singh, raids were conducted at the places of Pawan Kumar, Arun Kumar, Manish Kumar and Satendra Yadav. Both the drivers Manish Kumar and Satendra Yadav were arrested from their hideout. During interrogation, he told that he wanted to earn quick money. Meanwhile, he came in contact with two persons named Arun and Pawan, who lived near his company. After this, together they formed a gang and started committing thefts together. Manish and Satendra used to steal mobiles from consignment and further Arun and Pawan used to sell them in the market.
